Pastor Drew was called to serve as the 19th minister of Platte CRC in 2016. This is his first call to pastoral ministry. A native of southwest Montana, he graduated from the University of Northwestern – St. Paul (St. Paul, MN), and studied theology at both Westminster Seminary California (Escondido, CA) and Calvin Theological Seminary (Grand Rapids, MI). He earned his Master’s of Divinity from Westminster and was ordained as a Minister of the Word in the Christian Reformed Church in the fall of 2016. Drew’s inspiration for ministry is summed up in Col 2:2-3 and Mk 4:26-29, and his desire is to broadcast the seeds of the gospel into the church and help other people grow into Christ. When he is not working with the church, you might find him running down the South Dakota dirt roads, hacking apart a golf course, watching Mariners baseball, or in the kitchen making pizza from scratch. Drew met his wife, Katie, through a mutual friend while travelling through Colorado. They were engaged a few months later, and were married on New Year’s Day 2016. They share a love for discipleship, good food, sarcasm, road trips, and chasing after their dogs, Willow and Lucy. In 2020, God gave them the gift of a son, Dawson, and a year later, a daughter, Penelope.
